ADP TotalSource® is dedicated to keeping you in compliance with employment-related matters, which include compliance related to the Affordable Care Act. Part of that dedication is investing in the tools and resources we provide to you, our client. For clients who are Applicable Large Employers (ALEs) or hovering around 50 full-time equivalents, the ACA Dashboard for Shared Responsibility just got better!

These enhancements will not only increase the ease of use but also the speed in which the information is available—both are important factors in monitoring an ALE’s month-to-month compliance.

We are excited to announce the following updates, available now on the ACA Dashboard (found in My TotalSource® - Benefits tab – Health Care Reform – Learn More).

  • Affordability threshold updated from 9.5% to 9.66% - the threshold (or maximum monthly amount an employee should contribute when electing the lowest, employee-only plan, in comparison to their monthly earnings) is indexed year-over-year and increases slightly at the start of each plan year. Our system has been updated in all areas to reflect the current 9.56% threshold for plan year beginning in 2015 and the new affordability threshold of 9.66% for plan year starting June 1, 2016.
  • W-2 affordability is now presented on a monthly basis to account for the threshold change that occurs at the beginning of the plan year rather than the calendar year.   Previously, the ACA Dashboard would calculate affordability using the W-2 Safe Harbor after all payroll data had been processed for the current calendar year.  Now the system will be able to present W-2 data after each quarter for those months in which W-2 data is available.
  • The two Affordability output files have been consolidated into a single report – employers can download this report from the ACA Dashboard and review affordability on a monthly basis from both the Rate of Pay and W-2 perspectives.
  • Feature that systematically uploads the ACA hours worked based on your payroll frequency versus waiting after a full month of payroll has been processed and loading the hours worked 1st of the month following.
  • Full Time Equivalency (FTE) data on the ACA dashboard is available sooner if you have weekly or biweekly pay frequencies.  Rather than waiting an entire extra month, FTE monthly data is added as early as one week after the end of the month for weekly payroll and mid-month of the following month for bi-weekly payrolls.
