Massachusetts HIRD deadlines are approaching - reminder

12/01/22

Author: ADP Admin/Tuesday, November 29, 2022/Categories: Compliance Corner , State Compliance Update, Massachusetts

This notice Is to remind you to please complete your Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure (HIRD) form filing online via MassTaxConnect before Dec. 15, 2022.  Massachusetts law requires certain employers to file an annual HIRD form, which contains information about employer-sponsored health benefits offerings.

The HIRD form filing requirement applies to employers who have 6 or more Massachusetts employees in any month during the 12 months preceding the due date of the HIRD form (Dec. 15 of the reporting year). According to our records, you are required to file a HIRD form this year.

What do you need to do?

Although ADP TotalSource® will not file the HIRD form for you, we will provide you with the information you need to complete your form.

Here is how you can start preparing:

  • If you haven’t already, create a MassTaxConnect account.
  • You will need a separate account for each Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN).
  • Review the email from your HRBP that contains the data to complete your HIRD form.

Once you review your data, please log in to MassTaxConnect to complete your HIRD form filing before the Dec. 15, 2022, deadline.

For more information, check out these FAQs from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your HR Business Partner.
