Maine annual sexual harassment notice

12/05/19

Author: ADP Admin/Wednesday, December 4, 2019/Categories: Compliance Corner , State Compliance Update, Maine

Maine requires employers to annually provide their employees with notice of the employer’s sexual harassment policy.  The employer’s policy must contain, for example, the definition of harassment (with examples), the employer’s internal complaint mechanism, the Maine Human Rights Commission’s complaint process, and an anti-retaliation statement.

A stand-alone copy of the Maine Non Harassment and Sexual Harassment Policies (the same policies included with our Basic Employment Policies and Handbook Product) is available on your forms library in the state section.  Clients with employees in Maine should distribute and employees should acknowledge receipt of these policies.
