We have some exciting news to share – beginning March 1, you’ll have the opportunity to review your Certificate of Insurance (COI) prior to this year's annual workers' compensation renewal deadline. This valuable review period ensures that your certificates are accurate, and removes any unnecessary documents from your account before they are automatically renewed.
On March 1, you can go through your certificates and make any changes or delete the ones that are no longer valid for your business. This is the perfect opportunity to update and fix any details in your active certificates before they automatically renew in May.
The certificate review period starts on March 1 and ends on March 21, 2024.
To get the most out of this review, just follow these steps:
§ Review certificates: Log in to ADP and use single sign-on to access the Marsh COI Portal. From there, review all existing certificates associated with your account.
§ For your convenience, you can also download the list to Excel.
§ Any changes that need to be made should be done directly within the Marsh COI Portal.
§ Edit certificates: Before the renewal process begins, it is crucial for you to update any necessary information on your certificates. This step will help avoid potential inaccuracies before new certificates are automatically generated in May.
§ Within the Marsh COI Portal, you can easily edit certificates by selecting the edit option (pencil icon) next to the certificate and entering your changes.
§ You have the flexibility to update the certificate holder and/or project details for your renewal, including the Certificate Holder Name, c/o, ATTN, Address, Project Id, and Project Details.
§ Remember to click "Save Changes" once you have made the necessary edits.
§ Remove certificates: If you have already completed specific projects and no longer need the corresponding certificates, you should take this opportunity to remove them. Removing unnecessary certificates will help keep your account organized and facilitate quick and easy access to necessary documentation.
§ Certificates with the Renew Indicator selected will be renewed. If a certificate is not needed for renewal, unselect the checkbox in the Renew column.
On or around May 1, the renewal documents will be available to download on the Marsh COI Portal. Feel free to download individual or multiple certificates and choose to have them emailed or physically mailed from the Document History option on the Portal. Any new certificates requested after the review period will be renewed for the next policy year.
By reviewing, editing, and deleting certificates, you can tidy up your account and have the most current information for the next renewal.
Stay tuned for more information in next month's edition.
