Massachusetts HIRD deadlines are approaching

12/07/23

Author: ADP Admin/Tuesday, December 5, 2023/Categories: Compliance Corner , State Compliance Update, Massachusetts

Please complete your HIRD form filing online via MassTaxConnect before December 15. Massachusetts law requires certain employers to file an annual Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure (HIRD) form containing information about employer-sponsored health benefits offerings.

The HIRD form filing requirement applies to employers with six or more Massachusetts employees in any month during the past 12 months.

What do you need to do?

Although ADP TotalSource® will not file the HIRD form for you, we will provide you with the information you need to complete the form.

Here are a few steps to better prepare:

  • If you haven’t already, create a MassTaxConnect account.
  • You will need a separate account for each Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN).
  • Review the email from your HRBP that contains the data to complete your HIRD form.

Once you review your data, please log in to MassTaxConnect to complete your HIRD form filing before the December 15 deadline.

Check out these FAQs from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue for more information. Your HR Business Partner is ready to help if you have any questions.

Note: Please disregard if you have already completed the MA HIRD filing.
