Western Springs, Illinois, Opts Back into Cook County Sick Leave Ordinance

The Western Springs Board of Trustees has voted to opt into the Cook County sick leave ordinance effective May 18, 2018, reversing a previous decision to opt out of the Cook County ordinances.
The Cook County sick leave ordinance requires employers to provide one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked to employees who have worked at least 80 hours in a 120-day period in the county.

Effective: May 18, 2018
Action Required: Employers should review and, if necessary, revise their policies and practices to comply with this new law.
