Small Businesses Could Face IRS Fines for Helping Employees with Health Care Costs
A new regulation that went into effect on July 1, 2015, could find some small businesses being fined $100 per day per employee for helping with health care costs. The rule mandates that employers who give their employees additional pay to compensate for medical expenses or health insurance purchases, but do not offer a group health plan will be fined.
