4/21/16

Author: Taneil Jaeger/Wednesday, April 20, 2016/Categories: Bulletin News

A new feature went into effect as of 4/15/16 to help ADP Resource clients remain in compliance with reporting. If standard hours have not yet been defined on your Employees Employment Profile or on the Payroll Grid, they will now be automatically added for your salaried employees within the following states.

This is only applicable for the following states, as these are the states that require reporting of hours for salaried employees:

  • Washington
  • Washington DC
  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont
  • Massachusetts
  • Oregon
  • Wyoming
  • Virgin Islands

How it works:

During the payroll process, after the payroll is transmitted from the ADP Resource website, the default standard hours will be added to the pay file for employees who are in one of the SUI states listed above.

Defaulted hours are as follows based upon the employee’s pay frequency:

  • Weekly- 40
  • Biweekly-80
  • Semi-monthly- 86.67
  • Monthly- 173.34

You will see this new message to notify you that the default hours are being added.

Special Handling and Exceptions:

  1. Standard hours will be added to Payroll #1 for the pay period only
  2. Standard hours will not be added to Commission only employees
  3. Standard hours will not be added for 1099 contractors
  4. If employee has other hour codes such as Vacation, PTO, Sick time as defined for that paygroup, they will be subtracted from the standard hours being added.
  5. Employees who are on Paygroup 2(dual pay frequency) will only have hours added if employees on paygroup 2 are scheduled to be paid.
