Health Advocate Now Available to Your Employees

Health Advocate is a service that helps you and your employees navigate the healthcare system and get the most from their benefits.  It can help you, your eligible employees and their family members resolve healthcare and insurance-related issues—all through a single toll-free number.  

All employees who are enrolled in a TotalSource sponsored medical benefit plan are automatically enrolled to receive Health Advocate effective September 1, 2017.  

Who’s Eligible? 
All TotalSource sponsored medical-enrolled employees, their spouse/domestic partner, dependent children, parents and parents-in-law. 

Please note:  If you previously purchased Health Advocate for your employees, effective September 1, 2017, you will no longer see a charge for advocacy services on your benefit invoice.  Also, if you are currently purchasing Health Advocate for your employees that are not enrolled in a medical plan, they will be grandfathered in and continue to receive these services uninterrupted. 

What is Health Advocate?
Health Advocate is a service that provides unlimited and confidential access to Personal Health Advocates, who can answer your questions and help you get the right care at the right time. They can also take on a wide range of complicated and time-consuming issues on your behalf, such as:

  • Support for medical issues, and answer questions about diagnoses and treatments, including researching the latest treatment options;
  • Finding the right in-network doctors and making appointments;
  • Resolving insurance claims and billing issues;
  • Facilitating pre-authorizations and coordinating benefits; and
  • Negotiating to reduce non-covered medical/dental bills.

What do I Need to Do?
No action is required on your part.  You and your eligible employees will be automatically enrolled effective September 1.
