Overview:  The state of Washington has enacted legislation (House Bill 1533) that will require employers to display a new poster in the workplace.

Effective Date:  July 28, 2019

Details:

House Bill 1533 requires the state’s Employment Security Department (ESD) to create a poster regarding domestic violence and include space in which employers must provide the names of community resources regarding domestic violence. Employers will be required to display the poster with other required employment posters.

Action Required:  Washington employers should ensure compliance with the new poster requirement by July 28, 2019. Once published by the ESD, the poster will be available for download. Electronic versions of federal and state posters can be found at the following link: www.hraen.com/states.htm. The poster team can be contacted via their mailbox (totalsource.ssc@adp.com) to place an order and/or with any questions.
