Workers’ compensation renewal certificates (COI) from the Marsh COI Portal.

Workers’ compensation renewal certificates (COI) for the next policy period (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027) are now available for immediate download via the Marsh COI Portal, which is integrated within the My TotalSource® platform. This tool allows for 24/7 self-service access to generate and distribute certificates of insurance.

Federal Court Blocks TPS for Yemen

United States Postal Service Rule Change

The United States Postal Service (USPS) recently released an updated rule change providing clarification on the timing and manner by which mail is officially postmarked.

The rule states that the manual stamping of a postmark is not done in the ordinary course of business for retail USPS locations. This means that if you place mail in a mailbox or at a post office location and do not request a manual postmark, then the piece of mail will not receive a postmark until it arrives at a USPS processing facility.

Treasury Publishes Final Rules Listing Occupations that Qualify for No Tax on Tips Deduction and Provides Additional Guidance on Qualified Tips

The U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) has finalized regulations  under the new “No Tax on Tips” deduction, identifying which occupations are eligible for the new deduction because they customarily and regularly received tips as of Dec. 31, 2024, and defining “qualified tips.”   The Listed Occupations include corresponding Treasury Tipped Occupation Codes (TTOCs) which employers must report on 2026 tax forms.  The tax regulations do not alter the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) wage and hour rules or tip credit eligibility.

ICE Updates Form I-9 Enforcement Guidance

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has updated guidance on how it will view Form I-9 errors. The list of errors includes items that that are now reclassified as “substantive” errors and therefore subject to immediate penalties.

Washington Prohibits Mandatory Employee Microchipping

The State of Washington has enacted legislation (House Bill 2303), which prohibits an employer from requiring an employee or applicant to be microchipped. House Bill 2303 takes effect June 11, 2026.
