North Carolina amends pay & notice rules

North Carolina has enacted legislation (Senate Bill 208) that amends several wage notification requirements.  The law is currently in effect as of July 8, 2021.

North Carolina Amends Minimum Wage and Overtime Pay Laws for Certain Employees

Effective January 1, 2018, North Carolina workers employed in in a seasonal amusement or recreational establishment must be paid the full minimum wage rate. 

North Carolina State Poster is Updated Due to OSH (Effective 08/2016)

The North Carolina Department of Labor has updated its OSH notice to notify employees of their right to be free of discrimination or retaliation for raising health or safety concerns, filing a complaint, reporting work-related injuries and illnesses, and assisting an inspector.

New Tax Form Required for Nonresident Aliens

Non-resident aliens employed by your establishment must complete a new form.

North Carolina Poster Compliance Update

North Carolina Workers' Compensation and NCOSH has been updated. The Safety and Health (OSHA) Notice to Employees Poster have changed sections from "Records and Reports" and "Reporting Accidents" to "Injury and Illness Records" and "Accident and Fatality Reporting." A fill-in section has been added for Employers Workers' Compensation Insurance Carrier information.
