Turning Open Enrollment into ROI for Your Business

During your Benefits Enrollment Consultation (which occurs in February/March), your ADP TotalSource® Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) works with you to develop your benefit decisions for 2016–2017, ensuring those decisions match your strategy, budget and unique workforce needs.

The next step is to help your worksite employees make benefit decisions that further their well-being (health, wealth, life and work). Why is this important? Because many worksite employees simply let their current benefit decisions roll over to the next year without considering whether the coverage levels still fit their needs. That behavior can lead to worksite employees having more coverage than they need, which can cost your employees and your business money – affecting the return on investment (ROI) of your company benefits. It can also lead to retention issues if employees perceive your benefits package lacks the coverage they need (when the real issue is low understanding of your offerings).

ADP TotalSource provides your worksite employees with a wide range of communications during Open Enrollment – all designed to educate them on your benefit offerings and help them make good decisions. Here is a quick look at the available tools and resources.

·         Electronic enrollment communications – When your worksite employees elect to “go paperless,” they don’t have to wait for an enrollment kit in the mail or wonder if their elections made it back to ADP TotalSource on time. They get a quick email, enroll online and receive instant confirmation of their elections; it’s fast, easy and secure. We invite all worksite employees to opt in for electronic benefits enrollment communications, but your encouragement may mean even more to your employees.

  • New! Personalized videos provided via email – Each worksite employee with an email address in ADP TotalSource’s system will receive emails with links to short, personalized videos created just for that employee. The videos will preview the employee’s current and future benefits options, point out the enrollment deadline and offer important reminders if the employee doesn’t enroll right away. The videos help make employees’ lives easier by giving them just the information they need, when they need it, encouraging great decision-making and keep them on track.
  • New! MyLife@MyTotalSource – Our benefits engagement website lets your worksite employees learn more about their benefits options and gain access to calculators and worksheets that help them understand how to make the most of their benefits. The new site is organized around the four areas of well-being: health, wealth, life and work – making it easy for worksite employees to find the information they need. The new site is available at mylife.adpts.com.
  • Open Enrollment meetings that link benefits to real life – Enrollment meetings focus on helping worksite employees understand your company’s benefits offering and how it works for them.
  • Enrolling is fast and easy – Once worksite employees are ready to choose their benefits, they can enroll in just a few minutes. They simply go to www.MyTotalSource.com and the Benefits Enrollment Wizard will walk them through the process.

Encouraging your worksite employees to take time and select the right benefits for 2016–2017 can improve your ROI in two important ways. For your worksite employees, selecting the right plans can mean more benefits satisfaction and can help you retain key talent. For your business, you’ll only be paying for plans and coverage that your employees actually need and want. So no matter how you look at it, engaging your worksite employees in Open Enrollment can really pay off.
