The minimum wage in the city of San Jose, California will increase to $15.45 per hour on January 1, 2021.

The city's minimum wage ordinance applies to any employer that maintains a facility in the city of San Jose or is subject to the city's Business License Tax.
A non-exempt employee is entitled to the minimum wage if, in a calendar week, they perform two or more hours of work for a covered employer within the city's geographic boundaries.
Compliance Recommendations:
Beginning January 1, 2021, covered employers must pay all non-exempt employees who perform at least two hours of work per week within the city of San Jose at least $15.45 per hour.
