Minimum Wage Changes Effective July 1, 2026

Alaska, Oregon, the District of Columbia, and more than 20 local jurisdictions will increase their minimum wage rates on July 1, 2026. California has an industry-specific minimum wage that will increase on that date. Many non-exempt employees will be entitled to a higher pay rate as a result of these changes.

Workers’ compensation renewal certificates (COI) for the next policy period (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027) are now available for immediate download via the Marsh COI Portal, which is integrated within the My TotalSource® platform. This tool allows for 24/7 self-service access to generate and distribute certificates of insurance.

United States Postal Service Rule Change

The United States Postal Service (USPS) recently released an updated rule change providing clarification on the timing and manner by which mail is officially postmarked.

The rule states that the manual stamping of a postmark is not done in the ordinary course of business for retail USPS locations. This means that if you place mail in a mailbox or at a post office location and do not request a manual postmark, then the piece of mail will not receive a postmark until it arrives at a USPS processing facility.
