Laboratory Benefit Management Program for Florida Worksite Employees

Beginning October 1, 2014 UnitedHealthcare (UHC) in partnership with Beacon Laboratory Benefit Solutions, Inc. (BeaconLBS^®) will introduce a program to improve the cost and quality of laboratory services that Florida members receive from their laboratory provider. This program will help health care professionals choose tests and laboratories using evidence-based guidelines and industry best practices to ensure Florida members get the right laboratory test, at the right time and at the right network laboratory. This new lab program will apply to all Florida residents enrolled with UHC regardless of the state that the plan is issued (UnitedHealthcare’s Neighborhood Health Partnership (NHP) is excluded from this initiative).

UHC will be notifying Florida worksite employees of this program during the first week of September. New ID cards with the Beacon logo will also be issued to all Florida members.
