If you have employees in South Carolina, we need your help with new filing requirements beginning with the first quarter 2024.
Employers must now include the following as part of the quarterly State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) reporting:
· The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes for each employee.
· Hours Worked for each employee.
See additional information at https://dew.sc.gov/employers/SOC.
Important: Failure to report these additional fields may result in penalties and/or rejection of quarterly SUI reports filed.
What you need to do
· Locate the SOC Codes for all your South Carolina-based employees from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) website: https://www.bls.gov/soc.
o Resources are also available at https://dew.sc.gov/employers/SOC
· Update SOC Codes in My TotalSource®.
o The SOC code is located under Employee Management > HR > Employee Update > Taxes > State SOC
Important notes
· ADP TotalSource® will file your South Carolina SUI report with the Agency.
· For the first quarter of 2024 (1Q24), ADP will be reporting a default number of hours worked for each employee.
· For the second quarter of 2024 (2Q24) and beyond, ADP will report the hours you provide through your payroll.
· SOC code inputs should be completed with your March payroll processing, to ensure this required data is included on your first quarter SUI reporting to South Carolina.
