Georgia’s Medical Marijuana Law Includes No Employment-Discrimination Protection

New Seattle Minimum Wage and Wage Theft Ordinances

Two new Seattle ordinances imposing significant workplace changes on employers with employees in the City took effect on April 1, 2015. The highly anticipated and much-discussed Seattle Minimum Wage Ordinance (SMC Ch. 14.19) increases the minimum wage for all employees who perform work within Seattle’s geographic boundaries.

The poster that was previously on the website was outdated and needed to be revised. How to Comply with the D.C. Wage Theft Amendment Act

The D.C. Wage Amendment Act’s broad changes to the District of Columbia’s wage and hour laws greatly increase employer obligations, potential penalties, and liability, while creating a cumbersome administrative hearing process. Most significant for many employers are the enhanced timekeeping requirements for non-exempt employees and wage statement requirements for all employees, including exempt employees. The D.C. Mayor’s office has released a model notice which should be provided to employees.
