The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) has once again postponed enforcement of its final rule regarding electronic reporting of work-related injuries and illnesses. Your 2016 Form 300A is no longer due on July 1, 2017, and should not be submitted until further notice from the agency. 

Several states, cities, and counties will be increasing their minimum wage rates effective July 1^st, 2017.  Please see the attached chart outlining the upcoming changes. Several jurisdictions the rate of pay depends on the size of the employer and/or work location of the employees, and you will have to update your employees rates as needed to ensure you remain in compliance.  Please contact your HR Business Partner or Payroll Service Representative with any questions on these increases.

Observing that it would require “considerable calisthenics” to remove “sex” from “sexual orientation,” the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, in Chicago, has ruled that “discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is a form of sex discrimination” and unlawful under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
