Delaware has enacted legislation (Senate Bill 211) that expressly prohibits employers from asking applicants age-related questions on an initial application. Senate Bill 211 is effective immediately.
Delaware has enacted legislation (Senate Bill 1) that creates a paid family and medical leave program in the state. The program will be funded by payroll contributions to be paid by covered employers and employees beginning Jan. 1, 2025. Employees may begin using such leave in 2026.
Delaware has enacted legislation (House Bill 88) that will repeal a provision that allows employers to pay less than the minimum wage to youth workers and new employees. House Bill 88 takes effect December 29, 2021.
Delaware has enacted legislation (Senate Bill 32) that expressly prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals based on hair texture and protective hairstyles. Senate Bill 32 takes effect immediately.
