Federal Compliance Update

Multiple sources have reported that United States Department of Labor (USDOL) recently sent the proposed overtime rule to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for its mandatory review. While the actual release date and the corresponding effective date for the regulations are unknown, most experts agree that the effective date will likely be 60 days from the release date.

The U.S. Department of Labor has published proposed regulations implementing Executive Order 13706, requiring federal contractors and subcontractors to give their workers the ability to earn up to seven days (56 hours) of paid sick leave each year.
